RiverClan Camp

Gast

The RiverClan camp is half on an island in the river. But the waters are shallow and it is not nessesary to swim, unless you are a kit. It is surrounded by whillow trees and reeds, which make the camp almost invisible from the outside.
In the roots of the whillow trees, cats have made their dens, and some also built reed-dens to sleep in. But there will be more dens, when the cats have settled in. At one edge of the camp, there is a small stream and a little hill, where a big whillow tree grows and where the leader has made his den. At one side of the camp, beyond the reed barrier, some small rocks stick out of the river, which get warmed from the sun and are a comfortable place to relax.

A little sunray tickled my nose and I had to sneeze. I blinked sleepy and after a while I was awake. Still a bit tired I stood up from my nest and groomed my fur a bit, but then I gave it up and stepped out of my den. The camp was empty and no one was awake already, so I thought I would just sit in front of the willow tree, where I had built my nest, and wait for someone to wake up.

Silent

After laying awake in my small nest at the edge of the camp for a while, I decided to stand up. The first thing I did was streching myself and after that I groomed my fur a bit, so it wouldn't look like I had walked through a storm. After I was finished, I stepped into the sun, which was just rising and putting everything in a warm, orange light. A slight smile appreared on my face as I sat down somewhere and watched the sun rising.

The Tom cat is waking up. He was sleeping in his nest, which he had placed in a small edge of the camp. The camp - the one in that he's living since a few days. It's big and he has to say that he think it's very pretty, but he went to so much different places in the last years that it's crazy to imagine to stay here for ever.
Or, well, untill he'll leave this group of cats. He don't want to do this right now and the live he's living at the moment with this cats is the best he ever had, but nobody can say what will happen in some years.
Rowan's yawning and looks around. He can see this tom cat called River who is something like the leader of this group. And theres another cat - Sally or something like that. He can't remember her name. But he is symphatic. Should he go to her?
Yes, that's a great idea. I should make some friends. We'll be a clan.
Rowan stands up, is smiling and walks to her.
"Hey", he's meowing, "what's up? I am Rowan."

Summer

A nightmare made her wake up and she blinked tired. Since she has been away from her home with her mother she didn't sleep as well as she did before it.
But she thought that it would get better soon. When she got to know all the cats here and made friends, it would be easier to get used to this place.
After grooming her fur she went out of the den and looked for the others. She wanted to eat something and someone to speak wouldn't be bad, too. But who hadn't to do anything? When she looked aroung, she noticed River who sat in front of the willow tree. Should she go to him? Well, why not?
She went to him and said: "Good morning, River. Did you sleep good?"

With tired eyes I watched a tom, who was just waking up and then looked around the camp. As his eyes met mine, I looked away. I was afraid, that he would think I was stalking him or something. That would be terrible. I didn't want other cats to think of me as someone that I wasn't.
A voice intruded on my thoughts and I lifted my gaze, to see who said something. This someone was the tom I saw before. He stood in front of me and wanted to speak to me. My mind was blank and I didn't know what to say at first. But then I managed to grab a clear thought.
"Hello", my voice was very quiet, I couldn't even hear myself very good. "I'm.. ", I stopped - if I had said I'm Silent, it would have sounded weird. "My Name is Silent.", I said instead, but it was still not very loud.

River

I was still looking at the camp, as I noticed two cats speaking to one another and a small smile appeared on my face. Maybe it hasn't been such a bad idea to volunteer for a leader of a clan. Maybe it would all get better..
I blinked a bit confused, as I suddenly heard a voice. It belonged to a white she-cat with green-grayisch eyes. I smiled at her, and answered: "Good morning. I slept very well, and how did you?"
While I was waiting for an answer, I tried to remember her name. It took a bit, but then it came to my mind again: Summer. That was the name of the pretty she-cat.

Summer

The tom cat seemed to be confused because she spoke to him, but why she shouldn't? They all had to get used to this.
"That's fine. I slept well, too." Okay, she lied, but in spite of all her good intentions she didn't want them all to know her better than necessary. In the beginning she thought; later she maybe would say more about herself.
"Well... I think I should go hunting, I'm hungry. What's about you?"

ROWAN | 002

The cat seems to think about what Rowan asked. Well, he hadn't asked for anything, but it's normal to tell him her name now, after he had done the same.
When she's speaking her voice is very quiet, but Rowan can hear her. Well, not that good, but he can.
This name is great for her. She is silent. Or at least she seems to be it.
"That's a cute name", he repeats and smiles.
"Why are you here? I mean, what is your reason to join a clan?"
He'll tell her his story later too. He's hoping that she wont be shy or angry becauso of his question.

As the the tom cat - Rowan - said, my name was cute, my gaze wandered to my paws and I starred at them. Maybe I should say something? Otherwhise he would think he said something wrong, and that was the last thing I wanted.
"Thank you", I said quietly, it was no more than a whisper.
When he asked why I was here, I looked at him again and for a moment there was nothing but fear in my eyes. But when I realized that, my eyes turned normal again and now I forced myself to look him into the eyes and to not stare at my paws again.
"I.. I want to start all over..", I whispered and tried not to look at him as if he was a badger that wanted to eat me right away. Instead, I tried to look a bit happy. But I failed and so I gave it up. I was in a clan now, together with Rowan, so I shouldn't try to hide my feelings.
"Why are you here?", I asked.

River

I smiled, as Summer replied that she has slept well too. Of course, I couldn't know that she was lying. I was just happy that the clan thing turned out quite well. Next full moon we would gather at fourtrees again and StarClan would come to. I held onto this thought, that the fallen cats would guide us, because if the wouldn't, we would probably have a war again and I believed no one wanted something like that to happen again and again.
When Summer said, she was getting hungry, and wanted to go hunting, I nodded, still smiling. "I think that would be a good idea. Would you come with me to the river? It's full of fish.", I said and grinned a bit. The river had protected me my whole life, had been my source of prey and now I was still near a river. That was a really nice thought and made this morning one of the good ones.

Even if she act a little - or a big - bit shy, Silent looks after a few seconds straight into Rowan's eyes. He looks back and on his mouth there's a smile.
She seems to be someone who's past wasn't nice. She says she want to start again - so something must was Happening that was very horrible for her.
That's why he don't Think it's a great ideo to ask for more. He only would hurt her.
"I", he start to talk about himself, "was with my father, until he died. Then I startet to walk around until I met this cats here. And I like the idea of creating a clean. We'll be so strong."

Summer

She smiled, too, when River did it and looked into his face, didn't know how to react if he didn't agree to go hunting.
But he did and so she really smiled and and nodded. "Yes, going to the river sounds good. I never have fished, but I think it isn't so heavy, is it? Would you like to show it?"
Sie hoped that he wouldn't mind doing this or think that she shouldn't have joined the clan. In the beginning she had thought she would learn it surely, but now she was wondering about it.

It gave me a good feeling that Rowan was smiling at me and didn't care for my shyness. Not many cats were like that, the majority of the cats I met didn't want to talk to me because I was too shy for them. But not this one - he ignored it and I could love him for that. Maybe I had just found my very first friend in here.
When Rowan started to talk about his past, my ears twiched interested. He had been a loner? Maybe that was the reason for all the scars on his body. But I was afraid to ask, so I forgot that thought. He also said that he liked the idea of a clan. And that we would be strong. As I thought of that, a small smile appeared on my face. "Maybe we will", I whispered.

River

I gave Summer a pleased look as she said she was alright with going to the river to hunt. But she told me that she couldn't swim. For a few moments the look on my face was a bit confused. When she wasn't able to swim, why did she join RiverClan then? This question was soon answered, when she asked if I could teach her swimming. A smile appeared on my face and i nodded.
"Of course I will teach you. Come!", I said, now grinning, and ran across the camp towards the river.

Summer

Yes, he seemed to think exactly what she thought. Why did she join the clan? But when she asked whether he could show it, he smiled and now he apparently understood.
Then he replied he of course would show it and Summer smiled gladly. So maybe the life here was even better than she thougt.
Then he ran away with the words that she should follow him and so she did. She ran so fast as able and was looking forward to learnig swimming and fishing.

I opened my green eyes and looked around me, first my heart was beating faster but then I reminded myself where I am. RiverClan. My legs were actually shivering, I felt a little bit cold. I didn't know why, but it was so. I tried to ignore it and stood up, then my legs stoped to shiver. I was so glad for that. I thought it was something very weird. I remember my dream the I had this night an my eyes became wet. It was the day I lost my mother, Sapphire. I didn't know if she lives and thinks of me right know but I hope it is so. My tongue brushes my pelt until it was cleaned, then I tapped to the clearly. Some cats were there, I saw how River, our leader, was leaving with an other cat, a she-cat, but I didn't know her name. But she looks very nice, maybe I would talk with her later. I scanned the camp. Two other cats were just talking right now but I wouldn't go there. I'm nothing for many cats, you know? Then I remember the time without my family...

"I think we'll be", he's adding to her speach. He' choosing to take a seat right next to her. While that he's watching River and another cat he doesn't know leaving the den. Maybe they are going to hunt. He don't think they do something special. River was one cat he had watched in the last days because he's one of the leaders of the clans and there was no cat that was .. more to him. Well, he do not care about him, but he would know thic girl if he had seen her before.
So, they must go to hunt.
But it's None of his buisiness. Why's he thinking about that?!

Rowan Looks back to Silent.
"Do you know somebody here? I know some cats are here with their families. I am not."

I had to smile a bit when Rowan said we would be strong. Maybe it would also be safe here.. not dangerous and cold like the other rest of the world. Maybe I would be able to really start all over again. Without any fears of anything. With other cats caring for me. I liked that thought and held onto it tight.
Though I was a bit suprised when Rowan sat next to me, but I didn't complain. I didn't want to hurt his feelings and him sitting next to me wasn't really bothering me. No, actually it was a good feeling, having someone next to me who wasn't going to kill me. I had to admit that it was a strange feeling, but that was only the case because it was totally different for me.
As I was so cought up in my thoughs, Rowan must have watched someone somewhere else, because he looked at me again now and asked something. At first I had to think about that question. Did I have a family? I wasn't sure actually. So I just shook my head. "Me neither.. I know no one.", I said quietly and looked at my paws again.

It is different to talk to Silent than to talk to other people, but it isn't a real problem to Rowan. He can speak with her and he likes it. She seems to be a friendly and nice cat.
She doesn't know anyone of these cats here, just like he.
"Ha, now you know me", he says and laughs.

A small smile appeared on my face as Rowan said I would know him now. I almost had to laugh too and was suprised of me. It was a long time ago since I had laughed the last time. And now I had to smile all the time and laugh too. That was.. weird.
But maybe a sign for me to stay in the clan. The last few days with all those other cats were the last few good days in my life that I could remember so far. Before the clans were founded, I was always wandering around alone in fear of almost everything. But now I felt so.. safe. It seemed like no one could harm me now in any way. That's why I decided to stay here. And maybe someday I wouldn't be afraid of so many things. Yes. That would be something.
So I sat there, next to Rowan, still smiling and caught up in happy thoughts and almost forgot that there still was someone sitting next to me.

I just looked to the two cats on the clearing which were talking together. Yes. I am very interested to hear what they talk about but I just didn't want to go to nearly. Maybe they ask some questions I didn't want to answer. Or they would bulling me! No, you never got me there, it's to difficult to go in this danger. How brave I am, this is to much for me. Yes, I would splash into the cold water or climb a high tree but talk to other cats? No. Never. This is nothing for that I live. I... I just want Sapphire, Frost and Cheetah back. They were my family. My littermates. My mommy... are they watching right now at me? Do their spirits watch over me like the stars every night? Or the moon. The sun? Is there someone? Is this possible? I knew in my young years that many things are possible, but cats on the moon, our ancestors, watching over us? That sounds stupid. Weird. Strange. But I guess, it would make more cats happier here...

Tiger -1

My eyes were fulled with pain. I was afraid, I saw my dad, his dead body, like the time then, when I was very young. My body shivered, I couldn't hold it anymore. I fall down. Darkness was around me an it was cold. Voices were everywhere. Whispering, I didn't understand anything. It was just horrible!
I jumped out of my nest and flexed my claws, I watched into the endless nothing but shooked then my head. It was a nightmare. A terrible nightmare. Since my father died that one dream follows me, that is a kind of spooky. Whyever, it is over. And that is what counts. I cleaned my darkgrey-green and black tabbyed fur and streched my fore- and hindlegs. When I tapped onto the clearling not many cats were there. It's very early so it is nothing special I thought. RiverClan has not so many clanmates yet but there will be more I suppose.

Silent isn't answering. What had Rowan said that he could make her sad? Well, she doesn't seems to be sad, she's laughing - and while she's doing that she Looks very cute he have to say -, but she isn't answering. He hopes that she just had forgotten he's next to here - however that can happen - and not that she's angry and just plays to be happy.
Rowan thinks about what he can ask next. Or should he maybe tell something about him without any reason? Okay, there would be a reason: that he wants to let the conversation stay alive. He needs a few seconds to decide, but then he know what to say.
"Hmm. How have you decided to join the RiverClan? I mean, there are ThunderClan and WindClan too." He needs a moment to remember the names of the other two clans. "And ShadowClan and SkyClan. Do you like to swim, or .. ?"

I need friends, she's thinking while she Looks around the den. Some cats went out to hunt or whatever but some are still here and are talking. Everybody seems to know someone but she don't. She had friends when she were with all cats, but then they thought it would be a great idea to create clans. All of her friends choosed other clans and olny she went to RiverClan. She likes to swim and River was better than Wind, Thunder, Shadow - oh, Shadow was horrible, if you ask Finch - or Cloud, but to be alone isn't good at all.
I need someone to talk to and i can't imagine to be with my old friends. I Need new one. Maybe they'll be as good as the other.

She stands up, looking at all the cats here. She sees a tom cat, who .. isn't ugly.
Uh! I want to know him, she's thinking and walks to him.
"Hey, I am Finch. Like the bird you know. Who are you? Let's talk."

I was still thinking about several things and had forgotten that Rowan was still sitting next to me. But when he said something I looked up to him and remembered he actually was still talking to me. He asked me why I went to RiverClan and not to one of the other Clans. Well, that really was a good question..
I had to think about that a bit before I could answer anything. "I like swimming.", I whispered and gave a small smile. I really couldn't think of some other reason. Maybe that River seemed to be the friendliest of the leaders? No, Thunder had seemed very friendly too. And Sky as well.
"Why did you choose to go here?", I asked Rowan. I was really curious why he went here, but maybe he had the same reason as me: that he just loved to swim and thought this would be the best place for it.

"I am not the greatest swimmer if I am serious", Rowan says. "But I am not feared about it like most of the cats I've ever met. I like it and hmm, I hope to learn it a bit better. But River seemed to be the nicest of the leaderst. And I don't want to live in a clan with someone who is angry and wants to tell me what to do."
Rowan doesn't know Silent for a long time - just some minutes - but he likes her and knows he can talk to her without being afraid of that his secrets will be known by everybody in some days. Not that he had told her any sectret. But he know he can talk to her and be serious. He likes her. He hopes that they will be friends for a longer time and not just one or two months.

I was a bit suprised as Rowan said that he didn't swim that well. But I had to smile when he added that he was not afraid of it and wanted to learn it better. What he told me about the leaders was actually the same thing that I thought too, and now when he said it I was no longer afraid to say that too.
"Yes,", I said, "River seemed quite nice. I hope he isn't like Shadow." My voice was still very quiet, but it seemed like Rowan didn't think it was too bad to have a quiet voice. There were not many cats like him and I was happy about finding someone like Rowan here. So I wasn't alone here..
After a while, the silence between us was a bit strange. So I forced myself to say something - all the times before Rowan had thought of something so say. So maybe I should say something too and don't just answer his questions. But maybe I said something completely wrong. Maybe I.. I shook my head and took a deep breath. I would ask him something now, and if it would kill me!
"Do you.. do you want to go to the river with me?", I asked him, almost whispering.

I sat down at the place I was and closed my eyes to feel the rising sun on my green-grey black tabbyed fur. This warm weather was much better than the cold seasons, so I enjoyed it with every breath. I just freeze when someone said something to me, I opened my eyes and looked at a grey she-cat in front of me. She looks pretty but pure grey cats don't look so exciting to me. But they are just normal cats, so a little talk wasn't a such bad idea.
"Nice to meet you, Finch, my name is Tiger. Did you sleep well? What is the reason you joined the RiverClan and not Thunder-, Wind-, Shadow-, or SkyClan?", I asked her. It didn't really interested me but I wanted to start the conversation a little bit special than something like 'What do you want to do' or 'Do you want to go for a catch'. Do you understand?

"Yeah", Rowan thinks absolutely the same. He doesn't like shadow. Well, she's sexy, nobody can deny that, but she seems a little bit .. evil. That's a strong word, but it's the one that do describe her the most.
Because Silent was always so quiet and a kind of shy Rowan hadn't thought that she would ask him out. No! Not like a date. Like going together to a place. To the river. Together, but not .. together.
If he wouldn't have fur his face would be red as .. whatever is red. A cat with red fur for example.
"I'd love to do this", he's answering. When you do know what he was thinking just a second beefore this words are a little bit .. crazy, but he doesn't mean it like that. He wants to be friends with Silent. Nothing more.

But if she would want more ..
Hm, nah, he wouldn't do something with her. She's so much younger.
But she isn't ugly.
Stahp it, he wants himself to be quiet.

FINCH | 002

Ough, Tiger is cool. He isn't stupid and talks about bullshit for 303884 years. He says straight what he want and because of that Finch does like him after just a few seconds they are talking to each other.
"Tiger's a great name. It sounds strong." She smiles.
"Because River's the best leader. I don't like the other one. Well, they are .. okay, but noone to say: Yeah! You are great! I want to be with you for the rest of my life! You know what I mean? And I think I should've can do this. I don't want to be unhappy in the clan I am. But .. if in my clan are more cats like you, so strong and amazing, I am more than happy."
She purrrs.
Finch's always taling a lot. With her friends she's natural and maybe someone could think she's bitchy because of how she's acting to Tiger, but .. who cares?

A small smile appeared on my face as Rowan said he would think the same about Shadow. The black she-cat had seemed evil to me. And I didn't want to have anything to do with evil cats again in my life. Once broken and left to die alone somewhere in the cold was enough for me.
But my dark thoughts disappeared again as Rowan said he would like to go to the river with me and I had to smile again. I didn't smile much in the last few moons and now I realized how much I had missed it. But in front of Rowan I was not afraid to show my feelings and that made me happy.
"Then.. lets go", I said quietly and stood up. Hoping Rowan would follow me, I started to walk towards the entrance of the camp and towards the river.
